State of the art design, development and testing capabilities

Upstream applications are encountering higher temperatures and pressures along with more chemically aggressive conditions. This makes high performance plastics a good material fit with chemical, electrical, abrasive wear, hydrolysis, and temperature resistant properties.

We utilize engineered designs, advanced manufacturing, product and material testing, material development, prototyping, and custom molding and machining of high-performance plastics to provide our customers with robust solutions.

Product development process

We take on upstream application challenges, identify an area for improvement, then develop innovative solutions to meet those challenges. Our in-house Materials Development and Product Testing Lab provides mixing, testing, and measurement capabilities; it is where we develop new materials and perform product verification testing and analysis for our distinctive solutions and proprietary customer projects.

The facility’s product testing capabilities, in combination with the development of proprietary materials, have helped bring innovative sealing solutions to the upstream market, including:

  • Gazguard ® - line of proprietary elastomers that meets NORSOK M710 standard requirements for both sections: RGD and H2S aging
  • Unitized Seal-lok ™ – proprietary sealing solution tested up to 600° F, and pressures to 15,000 psi per ISO14310, V0 specification; designed for applications where traditional multi-component type seal stacks and bonded seals are currently used
  • Base Resistant Elastomers (BRE) – proprietary elastomers developed to address extreme applications, for use in downhole tooling technology
